Trying to learn a new camera...

So I'm a little new at all this and trying to learn a new camera. The first picture is of my Mom's red boots worn on stage in Germany after the war, as a displaced person. I love these boots- put them out one Christmas, and haven't put them away since. I like them with the poinsettias between them, for now. They greet me on the landing of our stairs.

The second picture is a page from The Book of Answers, which rests on my living room coffee table. You 'stroke' the book, asking a question, then open up to your 'answer'. :) You know what they say, open up a book to see where you are at.

The third is a picture of my most wonderful of wonderfuls, my cat Kiska. He is the most polite kitty. Although his patience has been tried with the new kitten in the house, and our other cat, Mr. Kippurrs, not wanting to have anything to do with any other kitty. Kiska is upset with this, because he just wants to snuggle with Kippurrs some times and have Mr. Kip massage his head. Kip wants nothing to do with him at this time. Isn't Kiska gorgeous? I love him to smithereens!!! He is a very long and big (structurally) kitty. This is especially pronounced by the comparison of the new kitten in the house.

The wind is blowing , making this super Maryland Tuesday a blustery below freezing night. I've been a little elf, painting smaller items to incorporate into larger items... all in my kitchen. Even got my twelve year old son to help. He's been coming home from school painting pictures the last few days, and loves the Folk Art paint 'soft apple'. It is a great color, so I convinced him to help a little. He didn't want me to use up the bottle. Wanted it all for himself... I'll have to show a picture or two soon. He's drawing, and incorporating his drawings or paintings onto the computer and collaging them digitally . They're great!

Also getting ready for a show. Have a good night. I'll try to post a little more often, hopefully within a few days.
