Ken Update, and Vintage Finds around the house...

Found this old mannequin hand at a tiny little antique shop in Sharpsburg. Sweet to show off Alex's vintage rings at shows.
My office where I post from. Love my Mac!
Below, another great find with some little figurines walking out of the picture- or so I'd like to think:) This is a sweet oil painting by the yard sale owner's brother. What tremendous finds I found at that place! After her mother had passed her fantastic 1800's home sold so many wonderful treasures! The house was a cascade of unending stairs, rooms, baby grand pianos, etc. What a treat. That was about 8 years ago near where we used to live. The house sold for a very pretty penny.

I am not a 'barn' collector, but love the subtle hues in this oil painting.

Jeff, Ken's longtime,HS tennis team chum, accepting the Courage Award from the Mid-Atlantic Tennis and Education Foundation on Ken's behalf. At this event, local boy made good (on circuit w/the likes of Sampras,etc...), Paul Goldsten, (as well as 3 other individuals for their tennis contributions) was inducted into their Tennis Hall of Fame. Paul is such a lovely individual. Paul used to play at the club where hubby taught/was Dir. of Junior Tennis, and where Jeff still Directs the Tennis Dept..
Roses from Gammaflowers.com, at the tennis tournament for Ken. 5 days fresh from Ecuador! And The Succars, who own gammaflowers gifted us the same for our kitchen table. They are in the beautiful crystal vase given to Ken with the Courage Award.

...hahaha, and we have Paul Goldstein's box for the crystal vase. They mixed them up when we were leaving the Army Navy Country Club in Va. at the awards ceremony...which , by the way, was a very nice event. The mini crab cakes in the cocktail hour were devine, and the meal and everything else was so very nicely done.

Ken's Mom was able to come , too, which was very nice.
More about these events and Ken's life are at my other blog for him. Friends/family , just leave me a comment, email or call, if you have lost the link to his blog, as it is not connected here.

Thanx. xo Lydia
